History

GASSCO, Inc. is a family-owned and operated ESP service and materials company. Opened in 1982 by Donald Johnson and now in its third generation, GASSCO, Inc. operates with an emphasis on family, safety, and community.

Donald “DJ” Johnson started his ESP career in the early 1970s with Centrilift as a field service technician in Oklahoma. By the 1980s, DJ was managing the Oil Dynamic Inc. California facility in Long Beach. Sensing a need for better service and materials, DJ left ODI to start two companies: Gassco, to provide service, and Fluid Production Hardware, to supply materials. Originally, banding was provided almost exclusively to the Los Angeles region while materials were shipped globally to places such as Singapore,Colombia, and Mexico. Soon after, Gassco expanded to include service in the Bakersfield area.

By 1985, GASSCO, Inc. relocated to Bakersfield and started offering spooling services. It was also at this time that Gassco started offering power cable splicing and repair.  GASSCO, Inc. now offers service all over South and Central California, mainland and offshore, and provides ESP accessories all over the world. Areas of interest include Texas, Oklahoma, and Colorado.
